Down in the gorge

When you descend the stairs and get to the bottom of the gorge, you will see Irvine creek, at a point just before it joins the Grand river.

Down at the bottom of the gorge

A quiet place to relax, down in the gorge. This is Irvine creekbefore it joins the Grand river.

Irvine creek does not always look so tranquil, as in the picture. Obviously, in spring, the melting snows makes it a totally different scene. Even in the middle of summer, a few days of rain can make the water levels wash over those large rocks that you see in the picture, and yet two days later it might become the clear, chattering creek again.

This picture shows the Grand river, just a short distance before it joins with Irvine creek.

A small beach area, in the Grand river

The Grand river offers a small beach area, between the falls, above, and the rapids, below this spot.
